ELI Advanced Reading Spring II 2025

Course Description: This course is designed to improve advanced students' reading skills using interactive technology, current evens periodicals, advertisements, blogs, websites, and additional texts. The goal is to improve comprehension skills and vocabulary. The reading focus is on identifying main idea, supporting details, comparing and contrasting, cause and effect, making inferences, and summarizing text.

Participation Grade is calculated by beginning with 100 points.  Five points are deducted for each absence, therefore you can be absent 2 times and still receive an "A" for participation.  Two points are deducted for being more than 1 minute late or being out of the class more than 10 minutes.  (Exceptions are made for special cases approved by Professor Seal.)

A student assignment is considered late if it is turned in after 11:55 on the Sunday that ends that week. Three points are deducted for each day the assignment is late.
